A short guide to choosing a size
It is essential to choose the right size, especially when it comes to shoes. The child must be able to move easily and the toes must be well extended. This allows the natural development of the arch of the foot. As we have already mentioned, the feet of small children develop rather quickly, depending on their age. Specifically:
- From 9 months to 3 years: development is so rapid that the size needs to be checked at least once every two months;
- From 3 to 6 years: the foot grows two to three sizes every year;
- During school age until its development: one to two sizes per year.
Ideally, a check on the actual size should be made every two months or so. Alternatively, based on the longest foot (even if only slightly, the length between right and left can vary) choose shoes that are about one centimetre bigger, consequently about one size.
