Don’t put your hat on the bed and don’t give your shoes as gifts. And wallets always with a coin inside, for good<\/strong> luck<\/strong>! But how many beliefs are there related to the world of clothes<\/strong><\/a> and accessories<\/a><\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n

Fashion, with its evolutions and trends, does not shy away from the fascination of superstitions. Often, these influence not only the choice of clothing<\/strong> but also that of jewellery<\/strong> and accessories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We at Fratinardi<\/strong> wanted to collect a few, how many of these did you know?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bad-luck colours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each culture associates colours with a different meaning. For example, black<\/strong> in the West is the colour of mourning, while in China, Japan and Korea it is white<\/strong>, associating with rebirth after death in Buddhist and animist traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that’s not all! If in Italy<\/strong> purple<\/strong> is a colour<\/strong> laden with bad luck<\/strong>, never to be worn at the theatre, in England we have blue<\/strong>, in France green<\/strong> and in Spain yellow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little tidbit: in the Middle<\/strong> Ages<\/strong>, during Lent, Italian<\/strong> actors<\/strong> could not work and therefore, earn money. As purple<\/strong> was the colour associated with this particular religious time, it became synonymous with bad luck.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But times have changed, and unless you are a particularly superstitious person, we have plenty of purple, yellow, green and blue clothes on Fratinardi!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a hard day at work, who has never come home and thrown their hat<\/strong><\/a> and jacket<\/strong><\/a> on the bed? Or the nice, wide-brimmed ones you use to protect yourself on a sunny day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, you’ve just gained a lot of bad luck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An all-Italian<\/strong> belief associates this gesture with that of doctors and priests who used to visit the terminally ill and, distracted by the moment, would abandon the hair on the dying person’s bedside.<\/p>\n\n\n

There is not much to explain: an empty wallet<\/strong><\/a> will always be seen as a jinx. Of course, today between credit cards and mobile phone payments, so many have it because they keep their money in an account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
